Podcast Journal #1: Where I’m At, One Month In

I edited the next episode I’m planning to publish for about 2-3 hours tonight, trimming it down to between 30 and 40 minutes. I’m trying to focus on keeping the best content from each interview. Also, I’m currently thinking through how to scale. So many ideas. First and foremost, I must continue to get quality interviews and develop a proof of concept. I want to focus on the fundamentals now, and stay consistent, yet think futuristically about growth strategies, etc.

I’m curious to know what people might think of the podcast. First of all, having listeners at all is amazing. I published my first episode on 11/21/19 and announced it on social media (after Apple finally approved it) on 11/25/19. I currently have 3 episodes plus an introduction out. As of right now I have had 116 plays according to my Anchor profile, with each episode having around 30 plays.

On Tuesday, November 26th, my brother in law texted me that he listened to the episodes (two and the intro were out at that point). He said “They were really good man! I was honestly very impressed. Keep up the good work I hope it really turns into something great for you.” This text got me pumped and meant a lot. He drives all over for work and listens to a lot of podcasts and audiobooks. I trust his opinion on a lot of things so the compliment from him was awesome.

I have a lot of improving to do, but maybe with the right strategies and quality content, this can become something. At least I can try. All glory to God for this podcast. He gives us the power to take our next breath. Nothing is possible without Him.
